    Indications and uses

    Sunburn

Despite the sensible precautions we take, sunburn is still a common problem which causes acute pain and unsightly redness and may lead to peeling of the skin and even blistering. Depending on the amount of exposure to the sun, the skin becomes red, painful and swollen one hour to one day after exposure.

SOLUGEL™ Wound Care Gel quickly takes the heat out of sunburn. It is designed to help soothe and hydrate the skin, therefore, to help reduce the likelihood of blistering and peeling. Its consistency is designed to help rehydrate the skin which has been affected by the sun’s UVB and UVA rays. SOLUGEL™ Wound Care Gel helps take the redness away and assists the healing of the skin.

    DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Apply SOLUGEL™ Wound Care Gel liberally to the affected area, without attempting to rub it into the skin. The gel’s consistency is designed to rehydrate the skin, where it gently maintains a moist healing environment. The gel should be applied frequently to prevent drying. Large areas may be left uncovered or covered by loose clothing.
Minor burns and scalds are an everyday occurrence and among the most common reasons why people seek medical attention. Even superficial burns can be extremely painful and deeper burns can lead to permanent scarring. SOLUGEL™ Wound Care Gel was originally invented for the treatment of burns in hospitals.

    Chronic ulcerative wounds

Chronic ulcerative wounds occur due to a variety of underlying conditions. These include leg ulcers which are due to circulation disorders in the lower leg; diabetic ulcers which are due to decreased circulation or damage to the nerves in the foot; pressure ulcers resulting from lack of blood flow and irritation to the skin due to prolonged pressure on bony areas in people who are restricted in movement.

For sufferers of chronic ulcerative wounds, SOLUGEL™ Wound Care Gel helps provide a moist wound healing environment. This environment enhances cell survival and is particularly beneficial in helping the body to eliminate dead tissue which is a necessary part of the healing process for this type of wound.

    DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Apply SOLUGEL™ Wound Care Gel liberally to the affected wound up to the level of the surrounding skin and cover with an absorbent secondary dressing. Depending on the level of exudate, the dressing should be changed and SOLUGEL™ Wound Care Gel reapplied daily, or as directed by your health care professional.
